Prominent AI organizations, including SingularityNET, Theoriq, Bagel, and Nuklai, made announcements from the FIL Brussels stage, highlighting the diverse applications of Filecoin for AI and cementing the network’s pivotal role as the DePIN backbone for AI advancements.

More organizations are shifting toward closed and opaque training models, raising concerns about power concentration, and creating information silos and centralized control that expose data to vulnerabilities. The lack of transparency in these systems obscures crucial aspects of AI development, including details on data sources and training methodologies. 

The Filecoin network offers an alternative to centralized models by enabling decentralization of resources and transparency into model data –– addressing the pressing need for open AI systems fortified by resilient digital infrastructure.

Theoriq, an AI base layer platform, and Filecoin Foundation are developing a series of AI agents trained on data from the Filecoin network, making open data more accessible and usable.

Cost-Effective and Efficient Decentralized AI Infrastructure

Bagel, an AI and cryptography research lab, and Filecoin Foundation are collaborating to enable AI developers to train and store their models using the substantial compute and storage power of the Filecoin network. 

Accelerating and Securing Access to AI Data

Nuklai, a collaborative data marketplace and infrastructure provider for data ecosystems, has integrated Filecoin through Lighthouse to make Nuklai’s metadata publicly accessible.

Qamcom DDS and DeStor Partner to Enhance Data Privacy and Security

Qamcom DDS and DeStor announced a partnership to provide enhanced security, robustness, and petabyte-scale storage services on the Filecoin network. The partnership has already secured two clients, including Swedish startups YayPal, a Web3 gaming studio with over 500,000 users for its flagship game, and Fieldstream, an AI marketing analytics platform.

Private, Peer-to-Peer, Onchain Alternative for Real-time Collaboration

Fileverse launched a decentralized docs app, providing a privacy-enhancing alternative to one of the most used apps on the Internet: Google Docs.

Filecoin has emerged as the DePIN primitive for the AI wave. From decentralized storage integrations to comprehensive solutions for storing and processing machine learning (ML) workloads, Filecoin can be the foundational storage layer for applications across the data economy: the key to data provenance, authenticity, and verifiability in the high-frequency information age.

Filecoin Orbit's mission to open the doors to a better internet for everyone, plus program goals, key statistics, and how to get involved, are now available at fil.org/orbit.

IoTeX makes the Filecoin network a preferred partner. IoTeX, a DePIN modular Web3 infrastructure platform connecting smart devices and real-world data to blockchains, launches its 2.0 version with key partners, including NEAR for data availability, Filecoin network for storage, RISC Zero for zero knowledge-powered compute, and Espresso for sequencing –– to make building in DePIN more accessible.

How Numbers Protocol Combats Misinfo with Vera Wu. On DWeb Decoded, Vera Wu of Numbers Protocol discusses blockchain as a content authentication tool and the role of AI in combating misinformation. Numbers Protocol utilizes blockchain and AI to build a trustworthy digital media environment, allowing users to verify the source of digital media. This year, theyworked alongside news outlets and civil society groups in India and Taiwan to authenticate digital content during election cycles in those regions using their Capture app.
