Collaboration with Aethir, Solana Leverages Filecoin and ZK Storage, and more from Singapore

Last week across FIL Singapore, TOKEN2049, and Solana Breakpoint, the Filecoin community came together to showcase how the Filecoin network is designed to accommodate the massive growth in data and AI and with a future-ready infrastructure –– making some major announcements throughout the week. Here are the highlights:

FIL Singapore Offered Insights into Filecoin’s Future

Hosted by MetaPals, FIL Singapore: Web3 Wonderland explored the intersection of Web3 and AI. Project founders, developers, and Web3 enthusiasts came together to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state and future trajectory of the Filecoin ecosystem. Juan Benet, Founder and CEO of Protocol Labs, hosted a live AMA; Clara Tsao, a Founding Officer of Filecoin Foundation, gave an update on the state of the ecosystem; and Max Giammario, CEO of Kindred, shared a look into the future of gaming. 

On the ground at the Filecoin Storage Provider Meetup, ecosystem leaders engaged with over 50 regional storage providers and network contributors to strategize for the most pressing opportunities and challenges facing the APAC region. 

Filecoin Foundation Teams Up with Aethir

Announced at FIL Singapore, Aethir (decentralized GPU cloud computing) and Filecoin Foundation are collaborating to address GPU scarcity and enhance AI-driven data security. Aethir announced support for the Filecoin network, offering advanced GPU leasing capabilities to improve data processing and storage efficiency. 

And Aethir has integrated with Lighthouse, a platform built on Filecoin offering perpetual storage, encryption, custom gateways, and multi-chain smart contracts. By storing data on Filecoin, Aethir is ensuring transparency, accountability, and robust audit trails for AI model governance. It’s the latest in a string of organizations announcing that they’re using Filecoin to help build a more decentralized, open, and transparent AI-driven industry. 

Filecoin Supports Solana with ZK Storage 

At Solana Breakpoint, Juan Benet explained how Filecoin’s ZK Storage is securing the entire Solana ledger, making all of Solana's history accessible, content addressable, and available. This collaboration helps ensure resiliency, scalability, and enhanced security for Solana. In addition to how Solana builders already benefit from Filecoin for decentralized object storage –– powering SOL websites, NFTs, and the Solana ledger –– Juan previewed even more upcoming integrations.
